Catchment, March 1998 - December 2002 (47 KB)
Description
This report has been prepared to summarise the water quality data collected
for New Town Rivulet and its tributaries during the period March 1998 to
December 2002. This is the period of time that the New Town Rivulet Catchment
Care Group Inc. employed a part-time Waterwatch Coordinator through funding
received from the Natural Heritage Trust.
New Town Rivulet is a permanently flowing creek which has its headwaters on
Mt Wellington, Hobart Tasmania. It's length is approximately 9.5 kilometres.
It flows through a bushland reserve (Wellington Park) before entering
increasingly more urban areas in the suburbs of Lenah Valley and New Town.
There are approximately 3000 households in the catchment as well as schools,
recreation facilities, a milk processing factory and a number of small
businesses and industries. The Rivulet flows into the River Derwent in New
Town Bay.
